RootsTech, Exploring AI Tools for Genealogy: From Transcriptions to Cousin Matches (WCGS Monthly Meeting) In-Person

The Williamson County Genealogical Society meets on the third Thursday of every month, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Round Rock Public Library. Meetings are open to the public, where a different topic is discussed each month, providing an excellent resource to those interested in learning about their family history.

Join us on May 15 for RootsTech, Exploring AI Tools for Genealogy: From Transcriptions to Cousin Matches, presented by Alan Rabe. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming the way we research family history — and it's easier to use than you might think! In this presentation, we’ll discover how AI is changing family history research!

This class introduces tools like FamilySearch’s AI Research Assistant, full-text search, and ChatGPT for translating and transcribing old documents. We’ll also explore MyHeritage’s Cousin Finder and the AI-powered Leeds Method for DNA clustering.

Whether you're just curious or already experimenting, you'll pick up practical ways to use AI in your genealogy work — no tech experience required!
