38th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Walk and Celebration In-Person
The Round Rock Black History Organization, with participation from the Round Rock Independent School District and support from the City of Round Rock, Round Rock Public Library, Round Rock Parks and Recreation, and Round Rock Police Department presents the 38th Annual MLK Walk and Celebration on Saturday, Jan. 18 from 2 to 3:15 p.m.
All are invited to join in the Walk, which will begin at Buck Egger Park, 900 S. Mays Street. Participants should meet in the park at 1 p.m. Walk will begin at 1:30 p.m. and will end at Centennial Plaza, 301 West Bagdad. The program will follow the Walk.
A program with speakers and entertainment will be held at Centennial Plaza (301 West Bagdad) beginning at 2 p.m. The keynote for the MLK program is Dr. K.A. "Shawn" Dooley, Pastor of Good Hope Baptist Church Round Rock. The program will feature the Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church Choir, under the direction of Directors Claudia Washington and Robin Smith. The program will also include Round Rock ISD’s CD Fulkes Middle School Choir, under the direction of Heather Rosen.
