Tabletop Adventure Gaming (TAG) Mini-Con (ages 10-13) In-Person
Welcome to TAG Con 2025, Round Rock Public Library's Tabletop Adventure Gaming mini-convention!
RRPL is inviting patrons to come play a variety of tabletop role-playing games (such as Dungeons & Dragons) in a shared, multi-table setting. This will be a convention-like atmosphere; children sensitive to loud sounds or aggressive pantomimed actions may not be suited for this event. All game masters for the Friday event are either library staff or registered volunteers who've passed background checks.
Friday, June 27th is the convention day dedicated to younger players, ages 10 -13. We will have an afternoon session, with a preliminary half-hour for attendees to sign up for the game of their choice. This is not a drop-off event; parents/guardians do not have to attend the event but must remain in the library for its duration.
EVENT SCHEDULE
12:00 - 12:30 pm: Doors open
12:30 - 1:00 pm: Check-In and Game Sign-up/Character Selection
1:00 - 5:00 pm: Let the games begin!
The following four games will be offered:
DUNGEONS & DRAGONS, 5TH EDITION
- Max # of players: 8
- Adventure Title: A Warm Welcome Home
- Description: You and your friends have spent the last few weeks at Stabby Marvin’s Camp for Young Adventurers learning how to be heroes. You gained skills that will help you survive whatever evils you might find in your travels. But first, you are headed home to say goodbye to Briarleaf, the place you grew up. The sun is shining, the pixies are singing, it is a beautiful summer day. As you crest the hill, to your surprise an ominous cloud of darkness covers the entire valley below all the way to the shores of Glasspear Lake. What happens next is up to you.
MARVEL SUPER HEROES (TSR)
- Players per session: 10
- Adventure name: “Round Rock's Newest Tech Giant”
- Description: In a world much like our own, but with super-powers appearing throughout society, a new AI-research lab, Titan Tech, has opened its grand business campus in the northeast corner of Round Rock, right near the college district. Through press releases, this group advertised their plans to build AI-guided devices to help accomplish a wide variety of physical tasks. But only a few weeks after they are up and running, rumors have spread across Round Rock of strange late-night truck convoys coming and going filled with very odd equipment, surprisingly robust security that threatens the most innocent of visitors to the site, and some folks even talk about a powerful agent of another nation, the Titanium Man, seen flying to and from the roof of the main building. Local officials for weeks have made assurances to the public and press that everything is above board and good for the area, but last weekend three teenagers were reported missing, and town gossip says they told friends they were going to sneak into the Titan Tech building and see what's going on, only to have disappeared. Police say there's no evidence the three kids even went to the building and are investigating all leads, but you, teaming up with other local super-powered heroes, have decided to see for yourselves. What is the secret of the new Titan Tech, and are the rumors of nefarious deeds true?!
ORIGINAL DUNGEONS & DRAGONS (“WHITE BOX”)
- Players per session: 8
- Adventure name: "Adventures in The Undercity"
- Adventure description: TBA
Each of these games is generally appropriate for ages 10 and up, but not every child is suited for every game. TTRPGs feature simulated combat and battle, and mild descriptions of fantasy violence will occur.
Parents of attending children MUST remain in the library during the game session and will be called upon to deal with any behavior issues immediately. Children younger than 10 may not sit at the game tables, as they can easily disrupt gameplay. Children are of course welcome to leave the games early but will not be monitored in any way once they've left.
Other Considerations:
- Costumes, (aka Cosplay) are welcome, but please no weapons, fake or otherwise
- Once all spots are full, unfortunately no more players may join the games.
- We welcome your feedback to improve future events.
