Homeschooling 101 Information Session In-Person
Have you been thinking about homeschooling? Are you currently homeschooling and looking for new ideas and community resources? Then this information session is for you!
Join us at the library for an informative and engaging Homeschooling 101 Information Session from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 22, Round Rock Public Library, Meeting Rooms A & B. This program will feature a presentation followed by a question-and-answer session.
Topics discussed will include:
- Homeschooling basics
- Choosing curriculum
- Homeschool organizations
- Homeschool-friendly extracurricular activities & socializing
- How to monitor your child’s progress
- Community groups and resources
- How to plan for graduation/transcripts & college
- Q&A with experienced homeschooling parents
About the presenters
Sylvia Hinojosa has been homeschooling her son for 7 years. She was a certified teacher in Leander ISD for 9 years before starting homeschooling. She received her teacher’s certificate in early childhood through 6th grade from Region XIII. She also received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Technology from the University of Texas. She has tutored at Classical Conversations and has also worked with children in daycare, as well as teaching elementary and middle school children in church. She also has been fostering children in the foster care system for over 2 years.
Quan Tran is the director of a middle school program that employs a classical learning approach, assisting families in navigating essential curricula. With more than a decade of homeschooling experience, Quan has spent the last ten years guiding her own children through their educational journey. She directed an elementary program for four years before stepping into her current role, where she creates an environment that supports student growth and success. A dedicated advocate for homeschooling families for the past seven years, Quan has worked passionately to support their needs and ensure they are well-represented.
