Adulting 101 For Teens – Finding Your Inner Chef (ages 13-18) In-Person
Join us for a presentation about how to get started cooking in your first kitchen set up by you. We'll start with ideas on where to purchase your tools and equipment and then then we'll talk about meal planning and prepping food. Get tips on food shopping on a budget and stretching your dollar, to create quick and easy meals and snacks.
Presenter bio: Thea Mackinnon is an Escoffier trained professional chef in both culinary and pastry arts. Before coming to Texas, she worked as a private chef including several actors and musicians. She has created products for local wineries, olive oil, date farms and a line of products for the University of California. She just published her first cookbook and has written 40 recipe booklets. She has traveled to over 75 countries and ate her way through all of them. Thea has a lot of knowledge and experiences to share.
Adulting 101 programs are designed to help teens develop life skills and knowledge to transition to adulthood.
Join us in the Youth services Program Space on the 2nd floor.
