Adulting 101 For Teens – How to Invest in the Stock Market (ages 13-18) In-Person

For teens ages 13-18.  Parents are welcome to join.

This presentation will cover:

  • Reasons to invest in the stock market
  • What is the stock market
  • Mutual funds vs. individual stocks
  • Index funds vs. actively managed funds
  • Mutual funds vs. ETF
  • Investing expenses
  • IRA's, 401(k)
  • How money is invested in the stock market and grows over time
  • How you can start investing in the stock market today

Our presenter is Dean Allen who was able to retire 12 years ago at the age of 51, due to wise financial decisions. He enjoys sharing with young people how it was he was able to accomplish that during presentations, so they can do well with money and retire someday. He speaks at local high schools, colleges, and libraries. He is the author of the book: Financial Freedom for Your Teenager: The Path to Financial Success for High School and College Students which is available to be checked out from the local author collection at The Round Rock Public Library.
